BASIC COURSE
The
course fee is $275
The
Basic Rider Course (BRC) is a 15 hour program, which provides
classroom and actual motorcycle operator training in a controlled,
off-street environment.
The
BRC was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) as
a complete riding program for the beginning rider. The BRC course
provides beginning motorcyclists with the basic mental and physical
riding skills necessary to minimize risk on the street.
The
BRC is taught by coaches that are MSF certified and is approved
by New York State's Department of Motor Vehicles as an option
to the motorcycle road test.
Students
16 years of age and older who possess both a valid New York State
driver's license and a Motorcycle Learner's Permit and who successfully
complete the BRC will receive their motorcycle endorsement without
having to take the New York State on-street Motorcycle road test.
The
BRC has been approved for Point/Insurance Reduction Program benefits.
You will receive a reduction on the liability portions of your
car and motorcycle insurance premiums and up to 4 points will
be deducted from your driving record.

Ride with P.R.I.D.E. provides motorcycles, helmets and eye protection
and course materials. Students must provide their own riding gear:
over the ankle boots, jacket or long sleves, long pants and full
fingered gloves. Students may supply their own helmet and eye
protection so long as they meet D.O.T. standards.
The BRC is both mentally and physically demanding. Please be sure
that your calendar is clear, you are well rested and free of distractions
during your course. Perfect attendance and proper riding gear
are mandatory. Failure to attend any training session (classroom
or riding) or to have proper riding gear as outlined above will
result in dismissal from the course and the cancellation policy
will apply.
