Long pants, long sleeves and sturdy over-the-ankle footwear (No Holes or rips). (Your ankle bone must be covered, and high top sneakers will NOT suffice!). If you show up to class without these items, you may be asked to leave. You can bring your own helmet (as long as its DOT approved), but we have helmets available for loan; if you do not have riding gloves we also have them to lend.

* How long is the course?
It is a 15 hour course, 5 hours of classroom time and 10 hours of riding time. Times are a Standard and can go over due to weather or un-forseen issues.

* How many days is the course?
We offer consecutive two, three and four day courses broken up in different ways. We understand our students have busy lives, and we offer a variety of class dates and times to accommodate as many people's schedules as possible.

* What is the coach to student ratio?
2 coaches per class, and no more than 12 students per class -- a 1:6 ratio.

* Do I have to bring my own motorcycle?
No, we provide the motorcycles for the BRC. (See other Course descriptions for more info)

* Can I bring my own motorcycle to the training class?
No. For the Basic Riders Course (BRC) you must use the motorcycles we provide. Please see the Training area for other courses.

* What type of motorcycles do you use for training? What size are they?
We use a variety of different makes & models, but they are all 125-250 CC's -- ideal bikes for training.

* I'm short. Will you have a motorcycle to fit me?
Of Course. We have motorcycles with a seat height as low as 26.8 inches which allows for a person 4'10" or taller to be comfortable. Lower motorcycles

* Will I have to take a test?
Yes, there is both a written test after the classroom portion and a riding evaluation after the riding portion. You must successfully complete both in order to receive your waiver.

* Once I complete the course, how do I get my motorcycle license?
After successful completion of the course, you will be given a waiver for the motorcycle road test. You simply take that to the DMV to get your license. There may be a fee at the DMV.

* I've never been on a motorcycle before. Is the BRC the class for me?
Absolutely! This class is designed for beginners, but it's also a good refresher course for those who have been riding for awhile. If you are really apprehensive, see the link for Intro to Motorcycling.

* Why should I take this course instead of just doing my road test through the DMV?
It's fun! Also, you learn how to operate a motorcycle properly and safely. This course helps even the most seasoned riders to develope good habits, and as we all know , the habits are what we do without thinking.

* I'm a beginner, and I'm nervous about taking this class. What happens if I don't pass?
First of all, our coaches are excellent at what they do! Everyone learns at a different pace, and we understand that so, if you do not successfully complete the course the first time through, our coaches will bring you back and work with you to strengthen your weaknesses, and then test you again, at no extra cost!

* Are there a lot of women who take the class?
Certainly! A higher percentage of our students are women, depending on the time of year, that are tired of looking over a shoulder. Women riders are learning the "right" way to ride safely! But remember, ride because YOU want to .

* I'm only 16 years old. Can I take the course?
Those between 16 and 18 years of age are welcome to take the course, as long as they have a NYS drivers license and motorcycle permit, and a parent or guardian must sign a waiver, that MUST be Notorized. Call office for details if you do not have a drivers license.

* Is there a hotel/motel near by?
Yes , there are several hotels just off the thruway at the Hamburg exit # 57, for rates between $49-79, for our Angola classes. For our Wiliamsville or Niagra County classes, there are many choices at the Transit rd Exit # 49 , near our other sites.
