Scooter Basic Rider Course is $275
The SBRC is a basic, entry-level, learn-to-ride scooter training and education course.
Participants learn similar fundamental skills as in the motorcycle BRC, but the entire class uses scooters. The curriculum follows the basic template of the BRC.
The objectives for SBRC are:
* Develop a safe, responsible rider
* Develop the mental skills for safe riding
* Develop the physical skills for safe riding
* Create an understanding of risk awareness and risk taking
* Develop a strategy to manage risk
Generally, a rider completing the SBRC should be able to;
- demonstrate fundamental skills for scooter operation and control;
- demonstrate a knowledge of minimum safety considerations for operating a scooter legally on the street;
- acknowledge the importance of a low-risk and positive riding attitude;
- demonstrate safety habits that are shown to reduce risk;
- acknowledge personal capabilities and limitations as a scooter rider;
- and overall, acquire the basic knowledge and skills to be a safe, responsible rider.
What is included in the SBRC?
It consists of both classroom and on-scooter instruction.
There are 16 riding exercises, four hours of classroom instruction, and a knowledge and skill test. Total instructional time is approximately 15 hours.
Required info
Ride with P.R.I.D.E. provides Scooters, DOT helmets, shatter proof eye protection and course materials.
Students MUST provide their own riding gear of : over the ankle boots, jacket or long sleeve shirt, long pants and full fingered gloves (NO HOLES in any mentioned gear).
Students may supply their own helmet and shatter proof eye protection so long as they meet D.O.T. standards and must show proof of DOT standards.
